FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New Orleans Saints will be without linebacker David Hawthorne and receiver Adrian Arrington for Thursday night’s preseason game at New England.
Hawthorne has sat out the past two days with a hip flexor injury while Arrington hasn’t been with the team since this weekend.
On Wednesday, Arrington was getting a second opinion on an injured knee.
“We’re waiting for the results today,” Saints acting head coach Joe Vitt said.
Meanwhile, receiver Devery Henderson and running back Mark Ingram returned to practice Wednesday, though Henderson was limited with an ankle injury.
Ingram expects to play Thursday night.
Cornerback Patrick Robinson was at practice again, though limited to just certain individual drills. Still, his progress has Vitt optimistic about a quicker return than expected.
“He’s coming a little bit faster than we thought,” Vitt said. “He’s a young guy. He hasn’t been nicked up a lot in his career. He’s getting treatment. H e has been diligent with that. So, hey, that’s good news for us.”
The Saints were missing seven players Wednesday, including Arrington and Hawthorne. Additionally, receiver Nick Toon, offensive guard Andrew Tiller, defensive tackle Tom Johnson and cornerbacks Jabari Greer and Elbert Mack didn’t practice.
