METAIRIE, La. — Running back Pierre Thomas was not at practice Tuesday and was listed as a DNP, though Saints Head Coach Sean Payton was cryptic about whether it was a setback or not.
“He wasn’t out at practice,” Payton said. “He was listed as did not. We’ll just continue to monitor where he is at. But he didn’t take any team reps.”
Thomas was limited every day in the week heading up to the Seattle game and was listed as limited on Monday’s initial practice report, though the team didn’t practice because of the short turnaround from Sunday’s game to Thursday’s Turkey Day classic.
Thomas wasn’t available during the open locker room session. Fellow running back Reggie Bush, however, was and said things were the same as the previous week when he thought he’d return from a broken right fibula.
“I feel good enough to play but ultimately it’s still coach’s decision and collective decision is if I feel like I’m 100 percent and can get in there and do things I need to do to be productive and be a threat out there on offense,” said Bush, who was limited Tuesday. “At the same time, not have any setbacks.”
Joining Bush as limited were defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (quad), center Jonathan Goodwin (back), tight end Jeremy Shockey (ribs), defensive back Malcolm Jenkins (neck), defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove (knee) and safeties Darren Sharper (hamstring) and Usama Young (calf).
Sharper said he feels healthy and is ready to go.
Besides Thomas, running back Ladell Betts (neck) was a DNP.
Cornerback Patrick Robinson (ankle), left tackle Jermon Bushrod (knee), defensive end Junior Galette (shoulder) and running back Chris Ivory were full.
The Saints placed linebacker Stanley Arnoux on the reserve-injured list with an Achilles’ injury. Quarterback Sean Canfield, who has been bouncing on and off the practice squad, was put on the full 53-man roster in Arnoux’s spot.
New Orleans also released long snapper Jake Ingram and signed Justin Drescher. Ingram had two bad snaps in the Seattle game, including one that Chase Daniel had to pick up and try to run in for a 2-point conversion but failed.
