METAIRIE, La. — Running back Pierre Thomas missed practice Wednesday, the Saints’ first session in preparation for Saturday night’s NFC wild card playoff game at Philadelphia.

The only other player listed on the injury report was safety Rafael Bush (ankle).

Thomas sat out with a chest injury, the severity of which was unknown.  The running back carried the ball seven times for 20 yards and caught one pass for three yards in Sunday’s win against Tampa Bay to close the regular season.

He didn’t get another carry or have a pass thrown his way after his eight-yard touchdown run with 1:27 to go in the third quarter.

Thomas is the team’s leading rusher with 549 yards on 147 carries. He also scored two rushing touchdowns. Thomas was second on the team with 77 catches, which he turned into 513 yards and three scores.

Bush, meanwhile, returned this past week after missing three games with a high right ankle sprain. He played in 49 snaps, or 75 percent of the defensive plays against the Buccaneers. He also saw times on 11 special teams plays.
