METARIE, La. — Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro said on his Instagram account Monday morning that he would not be playing in New Orleans’ next game against San Francisco.
On a picture posted at about 12 p.m. on the account, which he pumps up on his verified Twitter account, Vaccaro said, “Mad I can’t play this weekend. We will take care of business. Thanks for the support. WHO-DAT.”
Just moments before the picture was posted, Saints Coach Sean Payton was asked about whether he would update the status of Vaccaro before Wednesday, when the team must release a practice injury report.
“No, dumb question,” Payton responded.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport first reported Twitter that Vaccaro would be out at least this week.
Vaccaro left Sunday night’s 49-17 late in the third quarter when he tackled Dallas’ Jason Witten out of bounds. He briefly stayed down, slowly got to his feet and spoke with field judge Dyrol Prioleau, who quickly blew his whistle to stop play and send Vaccaro out.
The concussion was his second in three weeks. Against Buffalo, he left with 4:08 to play in the game when he collided with teammate Keenan Lewis on a deep pass.
