METAIRIE, La. ― Jeremy Shockey returned to practice Thursday morning for the first time since missing the afternoon session five days ago.
Shockey, who was held out for seven consecutive practices because of a sore right knee, participated fully in individual and team drills, catching a pass while being thrown to several other times.
“He’s doing well,” Head Coach Sean Payton said. “A lot of it is just making sure we monitor any soreness. But I was encouraged with how he worked today.”
The tight end didn’t speak after practice as he went straight to the training room for scheduled maintenance.
Tight end Tory Humphrey (hamstring), defensive lineman Jimmy Wilkerson (left knee), linebacker Scott Shanle (left knee), cornerback Tracy Porter (back spasms) and cornerback Patrick Robinson (hamstring) all sat out practice, as did the three remaining players on the PUP list – Robert Meachem, Darren Sharper and Clint Ingram.
