The Saints have signed defensive back Jordan Pugh ahead of Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game against Seattle, his agent said.
Steve Weinberg, Pugh's agent, confirmed the signing Monday night. Pugh, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound defensive back out of Texas A&M, tweeted the news.
“It’s official! I’m a saint @Saints!!!! I’m ready to go #WhoDat nation let’s get it!!!!,” Pugh’s tweet read.
The 25-year-old is in his fourth season, most recently having played for the Washington Redskins. He saw time in four games, finishing with one tackle and an interception against Denver in Week 8.
Pugh was on the Redskins roster before being released on Oct. 15. He was signed back a week later before being released one more time.
In four years – two with Washington and two with Carolina – he has 51 tackles, five passes defensed and two interceptions. He also has one forced fumble on his resume.
The Saints didn’t announce any corresponding move Monday and no transactions for the 53-man roster were listed by the NFL on its daily log.
