METAIRIE, La. ― The Saints cut receiver Michael Galatas to make room for center Olin Kreutz, the 14-year veteran who will take over with the first-team offense after getting waived in Chicago.

Galatas had missed the past few practices with a right hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, running back Chris Ivory (foot, sports hernia), cornerback Tracy Porter (left knee), offensive tackle Charles Brown (hamstring) and defensive end Greg Romeus (right knee) all sat out practice because they haven’t passed their physical.

Additionally, linebacker Ezra Butler (left hamstring) and receiver Jarred Fayson (left ankle) didn’t practice, either. Fayson had been having a standout camp as an undrafted rookie free agent.
