Three New Orleans Saints players who all sat out practice this week with various injuries were listed as out for Sunday’s NFC South showdown at the Carolina Panthers, a game in which both teams are shooting to avoid an 0-2 start.
Cornerback Johnny Patrick (right thigh), receiver Devery Henderson (concussion) and defensive end Turk McBride (left ankle) all won’t play.
Meanwhile, linebacker Scott Shanle (right leg) and cornerback Jabari Greer (sports hernia) were both full Friday but were still listed as questionable.
Greer is the more likely of the two to play. Without him, the Saints would only have three cornerbacks available – Patrick Robinson, Corey White and Jerome Murphy.
For Carolina, guard Mike Pollack (shoulder) is doubtful after not practicing Friday. Receiver Steve Smith (knee) and running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle) were both limited and are questionable. Linebacker Kenny Onatolu (not injury related) didn’t practice but is probable, as is center Jeff Byers (knee).
