NEW ORLEANS — The Saints agreed to terms with defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley on Wednesday, adding a player at a spot the team is woefully thin at heading into offseason workouts.
Only Tom Johnson and Sedrick Ellis were under contract with the Saints before Bunkley’s acquisition.
The contract, a 5-year deal, is worth a reported $25 million with $9 million in guaranteed money.
Bunkley played in Denver last season, finishing with 43 tackles, his second –best season after underperforming in 2009-10 in his final two years with Philadelphia.
In six years out of Florida State, Bunkley (6-foot-2, 306 pounds) has amassed 187 tackles with six sacks.
