The Saints agreed to a four-year contract with fullback Erik Lorig, a former seventh-round pick.

New Orleans announced the move late Tuesday morning.

Lorig, 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, played with Tampa Bay the past four seasons. He hasn’t recorded a carry, but has 30 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown.

The move likely means the team is cutting ties with Jed Collins, who wasn’t tendered by the Saints heading into this offseason.

Collins (6-1, 255) was with New Orleans the past three seasons, scoring seven touchdowns while being the team’s lead blocker.

The move could mean the Saints plan on dedicating more of the offensive game plan to the run game. Lorig is bigger and taller than Collins.

The team also traded running back Darren Sproles to the Eagles, leaving New Orleans with power runners Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson as well as Pierre Thomas and Travaris Cadet in the backfield.
