The Saints finally announced their preseason training camp plans Tuesday, exactly two weeks before their 2012 begins.
All players under contract will report for physicals, meetings and conditioning on July 24. Two days later, the team will hit the field for the first time, a nearly three-hour non-padded practice schedule to begin at 4 p.m.
Through the release, the team also officially announced two days of practices with the New England Patriots ahead of their Aug. 9 preseason game in Foxborough, Mass.
What stands out is that, for the first time, no two-a-days are scheduled. All practices, which will be held at the teams Metairie facility other than those in New England, will begin at 4 p.m. and run until 6:45 p.m.
The Saints also will have three days off from Aug. 10-12, a rare three-day break in the middle of training camp that comes after the second preseason game.
New Orleans will go through 15 practices by the time it hosts Jacksonville on Aug. 17.
