Seismometers are at the ready at CenturyLink Field in anticipation of the 12th Man.

Seismologists from the University of Washington's Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN) installed the devices yesterday as part of an experiment to see how the stadium deals with the noise and movement of fans.

Bill Steele, Director of Information for PNSN, said "We're studying how the actions and noise of the fans is transferred into the soft soils around the stadium and how that movement is transferred into the SODO neighborhood."

Three years ago this week, fans set off seismometers during a 67-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch during the Seahawks-Saints game in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. That seismic activity was quickly dubbed "Beastquake."

Seattle won the game 41-36.
