ATLANTA — The Saints will be without running back Darren Sproles and right guard Jahri Evans tonight against Atlanta, a blow to an offense that was beginning to click.
But there is good news – the Saints will have safety Kenny Vaccaro and tight end Benjamin Watson back after both missed last week with concussions.
Both Sproles and Evans were injured in the Saints’ win against San Francisco and didn’t practice all week in spite of returning that game after briefly leaving.
Sproles has missed only four games in his time with New Orleans while Evans had played in 114 consecutive games before sitting out Week 3 against Arizona.
Tim Lelito will likely start in Evans’ place, the second time this season he has replaced Evans. Khiry Robinson, meanwhile, is active after being a healthy scratch the past three games.
As for the other five players who are inactive, that list is led by quarterback Ryan Griffin, defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker, new cornerback Trevin Wade, safety Isa Abdul-Quddus, receiver Nick Toon and cornerback Trevin Wade.
For the Falcons, tight end Tony Gonzalez, defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux and running back Jacquiezz Rodgers are all active.
