METAIRIE, La. — Running back Darren Sproles and right tackle Jahri Evans both missed practice Tuesday, just two days before the Saints play division rival Atlanta in a national TV game.
Sproles (ankle/knee) and Evans (ankle) both left the Saints’ win over the 49ers with their injuries, but returned to finish the game.
They were listed as limited on Monday unofficial practice report; the team was required to fill out a report even though they didn’t practice.
The good news is that safety Kenny Vaccaro and tight end Benjamin Watson, who both missed the San Francisco game with concussions, were limited.
They were two of 10 players who were limited – defensive end Cameron Jordan (ankle), guard Ben Grubbs (neck), defensive end Tyrunn Walker (knee), linebacker Curtis Lofton (hamstring/ankle), tight end Jimmy Graham (elbow/foot), cornerback Chris Carr (hip/back/hamstring), cornerback Rod Sweeting (hip) and defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (back).
Meanwhile, the team began practicing linebacker Victor Butler. While he remains on the PUP list after tearing an ACL in the offseason, by practicing, the team can begin to see if he’s healthy enough to play.
The Saints will have 21 days to decide whether he can go on the active roster.
