FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — After missing two days of practice and being limited once, right tackle Zach Strief is inactive today for the Saints’ showdown with New England.
New England (4-1) tight end Rob Gronkowski, meanwhile, is inactive and leaves the Patriots an explosive player short on offense.
Strief had started the first five games as the line remained intact for each contest as New Orleans got to 5-0. Bryce Harris will get the start in his place and rookie Terron Armstead will be active for just the second time this season; he was in uniform for New Orleans’ game against Arizona in Week 3.
Strief is joined as inactive by running back Mark Ingram, receiver Lance Moore, defensive back Rod Sweeting and linebacker Martez Wilson. Safety Roman Harper (knee) and defensive lineman Tyrunn Walker (knee) were deemed out Friday.
For the Patriots, receiver Danny Amendola is active in spite of being listed as questionable. Defensive tackle Tommy Kelly, receiver Josh Boyce, lineman Chris Barker, running back Leon Washington, defensive back Tavon Wilson and receiver Matthew Slater are inactive.
