1. Alabama- Jumped Texas last week in the polls. Now Florida. Head Coach Nick?Saban has the Tide playing the best football in the country, bar none. An SEC Championship matchup with Florida still in the cards.

2. Florida- Relax. You're still No. 1 in the?BCS poll. The drop in the AP poll is cause for worry, but who cares - you still have Tim Tebow.

3. Texas- I sound like a broken record on the 'Horns every week, "Show me something, mister." I'm still unimpressed with Texas, but stay the course and the SEC feud will play itself out.

4. Southern California- If you are going to?lose, do it early. The Washington loss is a distant memory. Remaining unbeaten the rest of the way means USC is back in the title picture.

5. Miami (FL)- It's the same story for the 'Canes.?By losing to Virginia Tech early in the campaign, the "U" is still in the national title hunt.

6. Iowa- No one saw this coming. ?The Hawkeyes are the biggest surprise so far in the 2009 season and thanks to Ohio State's loss, Iowa is the class of the Big Ten.

7. Cincinnati- Finally starting to get?respect, including from me. Picked up a nice win at South Florida and still has an outside shot at?BCS Title Game.

8. Boise State - The victory over Tulsa was?the last game on the schedule that was a worthy opponent. Their?BCS poll position and spot in the AP will drop as the season moves on.

9. Louisiana State - Can't wait to see the new LSU offense Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Hopefully Russell?Shepard is featured in the now stagnant offense.

10. Georgia Tech- Ended Virginia Tech's national title hopes but kept their prospects intact.

11. Texas Christian- Running the table could get you a trip to Sugar or Fiesta, that's it. No?BCS Championship game for you!

12. Penn State- I'm calling it now - the?Nittany Lions lose at Michigan. Team speed will kill Joe Pa's bunch.

13. Oregon- The Ducks play USC in two weeks, but Washington is this week. Don't sleep on the Huskies. Just ask Pete Carroll.

14. Virginia Tech- Rest of ACC schedule is weak, so it could sneak back into conference title game.

15. Oklahoma State- If Texas is going to lose this year, I say the Cowboys are just the team to do it.

16. Brigham Young- Liberty Bowl going once, twice, sold!

17. Ohio State- Buckeyes still play Iowa, Penn State and Michigan. The fans in Columbus, Ohio are not going to like a four loss season.

18. Houston- Recovering nicely from?UTEP stunner, but Liberty Bowl is all it can achieve now.

19. Pittsburgh- An 8-1 start looks like a definite possibility. Too bad it could be with three straight losses (Notre Dame, West Virginia and Cincinnati).

20. Utah- Three straight?gimmies on the schedule. They need blowouts to keep voters attention.

21. Texas Tech- The defense keys a victory for Red Raiders. I never thought those words would be written or spoken as long as Mike Leach was in charge.

22. South Carolina- Yes, there are such things as moral victories. The Gamecocks don't move out of the Top 25 after stellar effort at Tuscaloosa.

23. Mississippi- The lofty preseason ranking has turned into a season to forget in Oxford, Miss. The Rebs are on upset alert as Arkansas' high-flying offense invades Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

24. Notre Dame- So close, but still no cigar. Head Coach Charlie Weis still hasn't beaten USC. If Clausen leaves, it could be awhile.

25. West Virginia - The most explosive running back in the country is hiding out in Morgantown, W.V., in Noel Devine. He's a pure speed burner, plus you've?got to love the gold grills.
