NEW ORLEANS — Ryan Perrilloux is back playing football in Louisiana.
The former LSU and Jacksonville State quarterback has been assigned to the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League, the team announced Thursday.
Perrilloux most recently played with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
He started two games for LSU in 2007, throwing for 243 yards and a touchdown in the SEC championship game against Tennessee. That game put LSU in the BCS title game against Ohio State, a game the Tigers eventually won, claiming their second title of the decade.
But Perrilloux’s time at LSU was rocky and he transferred to Jacksonville State, where he eventually earned the Ohio Valley Conference’s offensive player of the year honor as a senior in 2009.
