ATHENS, Ga. -- We’ve only been in Athens, Georgia for one full day, but we’re already finding an incredible number of Louisiana-Georgia connections, and especially a couple of very impressive Northshore-Georgia connections.

That includes sophomore Garrett Brasseaux, who plays tennis for Georgia. He’s from Mandeville.

Georgia has won six NCAA championships and are among the elite tennis programs in America. Brasseaux is one of the young stars on that team.

Brasseaux said he will definitely be watching the SEC Championship Game Saturday, but he will not be pulling for the Bulldogs.

“LSU, I gotta say it," he said. "I’ve grown up an LSU fan my whole life. I can’t just turn away from that.”

Brasseaux said he’s a little afraid what people on campus may say.

“Yeah, I think I am. But you gotta stay true to it,” he said.

The SEC Championship Game is airing Saturday on Channel 4 at 3 p.m.
