LSU second baseman JaCoby Jones was named the SEC Player of the Week by the conference after batting .500 in helping the Tigers go 3-1 this past week.
Jones, a sophomore, went 7-for-14 with a double, one home run, seven RBI, three runs scored and one stolen base.
Against Ole Miss, he went 5-for-12. In Sunday’s 12-3 win, Jones went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI.
Jones is the fifth Tiger to win either the player of the week award or pitcher of the week honor.
