BIRMINGHAM, AL - LSU's hot-hitting outfielder Raph Rhymes has been named the SEC Baseball Player of the Year, it was announced Tuesday.
The selections were made by the SEC coaches.
Rhymes also made the first team All-SEC, along with pitching ace Kevin Gausman. Rhymes leads the NCAA in hitting at .459 heading into postseason.
League coaches picked Mississippi State's Chris Stratton as pitcher of the year and Kentucky's Gary Henderson as coach of the year in results released Tuesday by the SEC.
