LSU’s opener against TCU in the Cowboys Classic will kick off at 8 p.m., the second time in three years the Tigers will begin their season in the Arlington, Texas game.
The Aug. 31 game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
The Tigers opened the 2011 season with a commanding 40-27 win over Oregon, a game that propelled LSU to an undefeated regular season and an eventual spot in the BCS championship game.
LSU opens the season with three consecutive games against non-conference competition and will spend three of the first four weeks at home in Tiger Stadium.
The game will be first against TCU since 1968. LSU is 5-2-1 all-time against the Horned Frogs.
