NEW YORK - Sports Illustrated senior writers Thayer Evans and Pete Thamel have a cover story on former LSU standout Tyrann Mathieu which examines some of his troubles and hints that some of his off-the-field activities could result in NCAA violations.
The article points out that the NCAA doesn't allow an athlete to use his or her name or picture to promote a commercial service or product of any kind.
The article says that Mathieu is seen in several videos promoting events at a Baton Rouge club called The Palace, and is also pictured in a flyer in full LSU uniform for a party at the club.
