NEW ORLEANS - The city council has voted unanimously to repeal plans for an interim zoning district that would have overseen the plans for a new football stadium on the Tulane campus.
The vote comes just about two months after the council passed a resolution to ask the city planning commission to review an interim zoning district that could have imposed restrictions and forced changes to plans for a stadium that could have delayed the project past its scheduled completion date in 2014.
Tulane has held a series of forums with affected neighbors about the impact of a stadium.
