State's top girl basketball player chooses LSU

HOUMA, La. - The top girl's basketball player in the state has committed to LSU, Eyewitness Sports has learned.

Theresa Plaisance, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall, was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the previous season and will be a senior at Vandebilt High this coming season.

Plaisance transferred to Vandebilt from Ursuline High prior to her junior season.

Plaisance's mother, 'DoBee Plaisance,' is the head women's basketball coach at Nicholls State University and is the former head coach of Loyola University's women's basketball team.
