NEW ORLEANS – Helen Cox’s girls basketball program has been put on probation by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association for using an ineligible player.
Additionally, the school was fined $400; LHSAA bylaws require a fine of $100 per student per contest with a maximum of $400.
In all, Cox used the ineligible player in 24 games this season. The LHSAA first learned of issue when another school reported the issue on Jan. 30.
Cox was 20-4 at the time and will be required to forfeit all 20 wins.
