SHELBY, NC - After a more than two hour rain delay, Jesuit Retif Oil beat Brooklawn, New Jersey for the American Legion World Series.
Jesuit's Emerson Gibbs, a Tulane signee, pitched a three-hit shutout and lasted the entire game.
A double from Matt Robért scored two runs in the seventh inning.
Jesuit closed the game with a 4-0 lead and a strike by Gibbs.
The game ended at 1:20 a.m. and Gibbs was named the Legions Player of the Year.
