RUSTON, La. - The last time Riverside and John Curtis met on the basketball court, a track meet broke out.

It was up and down the court, and when the clock struck zero, there were 198 points on the scoreboard. The Rebels got the win

In Ruston on Saturday, the teams met again in the 2-A title game. However, the Patriots got the win this time with the score of 57-48, breaking the Rebels two year hold of the 2-A championship trophy.

Dillon Gordon led the Patriots with 13 points as John Curtis picked up its first ever state basketball championship.

The girls team from John Curtis also took the 2-A championship.
