NEW ORLEANS - Edna Karr repeated itself in the 4A State High School Football Championships Saturday, but no one seemed to mind. No one from New Orleans, that is.
The Cougars bested previously unbeaten Lakeshore High 48-26 to win a second straight state championship.
Karr led the hard fought game 28-20 at the half, but broke it open by scoring the next 20 points to take a 48-20 lead late.
"I've been saying all year, we have the best defensive line in the state," said Karr head coach Brice Brown.
Lakeshore, which came into the game unbeaten at 14-0, finished the best season in school history.
