PARIS (AP) — French volleyball player Nicolas Marechal has been handed a three-month suspension for failing to provide information about his whereabouts to France's anti-doping agency.

Marechal, who plays with Poitiers in the French league and has 42 caps with the national team, said he forgot to log his precise location three times over the past two seasons.

According to the L'Equipe newspaper website, Marechal said Saturday night that he was careless but didn't try to avoid the testers, adding that he tested negative twice during that period.
