JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Cricket South Africa says former international batsman Vaughn van Jaarsveld has tested positive for the banned stimulant sibutramine, an appetite suppressant.

Tony Irish, CEO of CSA, said on Thursday that Van Jaarsveld's positive sample came from a dietary medication prescribed by his doctor. He said CSA doesn't believe Vaughn violated doping rules.

Van Jaarsveld played in two one-day internationals and three Twenty20s for South Africa last year, all against Australia.
