Brandon's McInnis wins honor

BRANDON, Miss. (AP) — Brandon High School track coach John McInnis has been named the National Track and Field Coach of the Year for 2010 by the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that McInnis led the Brandon High girls and boys to Class 6A state championships last spring.

McInnis has coached track for 39 years and is in his 13th season at Brandon. He's won 26 state titles, including eight — six boys, two girls — at Brandon.
