NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities say a 54-year-old man collapsed during Sunday's Rock 'n' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon and was revived by bystanders.
New Orleans Emergency Medical Services spokesman Jeb Tate said emergency technicians arrived to find bystanders performing life saving procedures on the runner, who regained a pulse and started breathing on his own through the efforts of bystanders and paramedics.
The man's name was not immediately available.
The runner was transported to an area hospital. Tate didn't know why the runner collapsed.
