CHENNAI, India (AP) — Kenya's veteran allrounder Steve Tikolo says his team may be counting on younger players in its World Cup lineup, but they are certainly ready to take on New Zealand in the side's opener on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Kenyan, who will be playing in his fifth World Cup, can draw on the experience of no fewer than 129 one-day internationals when the African side starts its campaign at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

It's a sharp to the contrast to the likes of highly promising 20-year-old batsman Seren Waters and two 21-year-old teammates, fellow batsman Rakep Patel and spinner Shem Ngoche, who stand to feature in the tournament.

Tikolo says his team is "well-prepared" and he is backing the "youngsters in the team who have come up the ranks."
