Both he and his agent have confirmed that an agreement has been reached. Based on the collective bargaining agreement, he is due for a four-year contract worth about $21 million.
NEW YORK (AP) — Spending by teams in baseball's amateur draft dropped by 11 percent in the first year of the new labor contract. Under the latest labor deal, two aims were to slow spending on prospects through the draft and to get picks to sign sooner.
