BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson has pleaded no contest to a charge of simple battery in state court.

The charge stems for a bar fight in which Jefferson and other LSU players were accused of participating on Aug. 19, 2011.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/SvM66l ) state District Judge Chip Moore on Wednesday put Jefferson on supervised bench probation for one year and ordered him to perform 30 hours of community service work.

Moore ruled Tuesday that Jefferson had violated a term of his bond in the battery case by being arrested last week on a drug-related count.

The 22-year-old Jefferson was arrested along with former LSU players Tyrann Mathieu, Derrick Bryant and Karnell Hatcher.
