LOS ANGELES (AP) — Greivis Vasquez had 25 points and 10 assists and the New Orleans Hornets' defense took Blake Griffin completely out of the game en route to a 105-98 victory over the skidding Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, ending the Hornets' seven-game losing streak. Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith each scored 17 points for the Hornets.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Drew Brees happily entertains playoff possibilities for the New Orleans Saints, even after a loss to San Francisco dropped them to 5-6. New Orleans remains one game out of the NFC wild card race with five games left, which to Brees feels like the Saints are virtually in control of their playoff destiny — even if that is not entirely the case.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Jaye Crockett scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Texas Tech to an 84-75 win over Jackson State Monday night. Crockett, who has been the Red Raiders' high scorer the past three games, got into early foul trouble but helped revive the offense late in the first half.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Florida running back Mike Gillislee and Mississippi receiver Donte Moncrief are co-Southeastern Conference offensive players of the week. Gillislee rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns against Florida State. Moncrief caught seven passes for a career-high 173 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Mississippi State.
