HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Southern Miss police have arrested the final two suspects involved in a Nov. 28 altercation that landed Golden Eagles quarterback Anthony Alford in jail.
The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/TTwiHx ) 23-year-old Lemanuel C. Carson and 21-year-old Jasper Jarrell Brown, both of Petal, were arrest Wednesday. Carson is charged with hindering prosecution, and Brown is charged with hindering prosecution as well as possession of a weapon on campus. Both are held in the Forrest County Jail.
University police Chief Bob Hopkins says both suspects turned themselves in, bringing the total number arrested to six.
The 18-year-old Alford initially was booked the day of the altercation on an aggravated assault charge, but the charges were dropped in favor of two other charges: conspiracy to possess a firearm on campus and hindering prosecution.
