SAN ANTONIO (AP) — David Ash threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes, the last a 36-yard strike to Marquise Goodman with 2:24 left, to give Texas a 31-27 comeback victory over Number 15 Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl last night. The Longhorns never led in San Antonio before Goodman scored his second touchdown on a deep post pattern, just one play after Texas converted a fourth-and-1 to stay alive.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Freshman quarterback Driphus Jackson threw for 264 yards in relief of Rice's hurt starter, including two touchdown passes to Jordan Taylor, and the Owls beat Air Force 33-14 in the Armed Forces Bowl yesterday. Air Force had to play backup quarterback Kale Pearson in Fort Worth and was held to a season-low 214 total yards.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Fabyon Harris scored 12 points, Ray Turner chipped in with 11 and Texas A and M mounted a late comeback to hold off Army 61-55 before over 6,400 fans in Reed Arena yesterday. Kyle Wilson paced the Black Knights with a game-high 15 points in College Station.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Sheldon McClellan scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds as Texas defeated Rice 57-41 Saturday in the Longhorns' final non-conference tuneup before starting Big 12 competition. Julien Lewis added 12 points, and Jonathon Holmes had eight boards as UT improved to 7-0 against the Owls under head coach Rick Barnes. The Longhorns begin league play against Baylor on January 5th.
