Payton, who took part in NFC coaches' media availability at the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix on Wednesday, says the Saints did a lot of things that prevented them from winning last season.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Jonathan Mills scored 16 points, Neil Watson added 15 and Southern Miss beat Charleston Southern 78-71 Wednesday in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. Southern Miss led for nearly the entire game, but struggled to put Charleston Southern away until the final minute.
