BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Penn State coach Coquese Washington says the Lady Lions are happy to open the NCAA tournament in Baton Rouge for the second straight season, even if it means being on the road despite being the top seed at their site. Any sense of deja-vu is comforting for Penn State, which advanced out of Baton Rouge last year with victories over UTEP and host LSU.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The No. 3 seed Lady Lions of Penn State have most of their leaders back, including Big Ten player of the year Maggie Lucas, heading into Sunday evening's first-round game against a 14th-seeded Cal Poly team in its first ever tournament. In the second game in Baton Rouge, sixth-seeded LSU hosts No. 11 seed Green Bay, which enters its fifth straight NCAA tournament riding a 24-game winning streak.

SAUCIER, Miss. (AP) — Corey Pavin birdied his first six holes and finished with a 5-under 67 to join Bernhard Langer, Roger Chapman and Joe Daley atop the leaderboard Saturday after the second round of the Champions Tour's Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic.Pavin took advantage of Fallen Oak's soft greens in ideal windless conditions. Langer had a 65, Chapman shot 67, and Daley had a 66.

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — Kyle Busch earned Joe Gibbs Racing's ninth consecutive Nationwide Series victory at Fontana on Saturday, comfortably beating Sam Hornish Jr. for his third win in five races this season. Joe Gibbs Racing's Toyotas haven't lost a Nationwide race on their unofficial home track since 2007.
