ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — For the 10th time in his career, Yu Darvish has reached double-digits in strike outs. He struck out 10 Seattle Mariners and allowed only three hits in seven innings. The Texas Rangers won 7-0. Darvish improved to 3-1 this season.
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Suddenly the St. Louis Blues are threatening for one of the top spots in the Western Conference playoff rankings. They beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 yesterday for their ninth win in 11 games. Brian Elliott made 21 saves and Ryan Reaves and Chris Stewart added the goals. The Blues are currently sixth in the West, but just one point behind Vancouver, Los Angeles and San Jose, who are tied for third.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A familiar face will be on the opposite sideline Sunday as the Oklahoma City Thunder open the playoffs against the Houston Rockets. James Harden is leading the Rockets against his old team, including superstar Kevin Durant. Harden has blossomed in Houston, becoming an All-Star and the NBA's fifth-leading scorer. The Thunder are trying to get back to the NBA Finals for the second year in a row.
