Readtheprospectus wins Belmont's Commentator

NEW YORK (AP) — Readtheprospectus won the $150,000 Commentator Stakes, the richest of the seven stakes of New York Showcase Day on Saturday at Belmont Park.

The entire 10-race card was devoted to horses bred in the state.

Readtheprospectus extended his winning streak to six in his stakes debut, beating So Scott by 1¼ lengths.

The 4-year-old gelding ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:41.17, paying $4.70 to win. Junior Alvarado was aboard for trainer Chad Brown.

In the other stakes:

—Lovely Syn improved to 4 for 4, winning the $125,000 Bouwerie for 2-year-old fillies by 10¼ lengths. She paid $2.50 to win as the 1-5 favorite.

—Amberjack pulled a 10-1 upset in the $125,000 Mike Lee for 3-year-olds.

—Shakeira extended her winning streak to three, edging Inimitable Romanee by a neck as the 4-5 favorite in the $125,000 Mount Vernon for fillies and mares on the turf.

—King Kressa captured the $125,000 Kingston on the turf, paying $8.60 to win.

—Saginaw won again, taking the $100,000 Affirmed Success as the 3-5 favorite. Saginaw got his 14th win in the last 18 starts since the beginning of 2012. He paid $3.40 to win.

—Clear Pasaj beat Lady On The Run by a head in the $100,000 Dancing Renee for fillies and mares. She paid $10.40 to win.
