OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — It's Mississippi State vs. UCLA in a best-of-three final starting Monday night at the College World Series. The Bulldogs played their way into the final by eliminating Oregon State and UCLA is in after beating North Carolina by identical 4-1 scores last hight.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jean Segura hit a home run and Wily Peralta allowed two hits in seven innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to their second shutout of the season, a 2-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta was shut out for the 10th time and lost for the fourth time in five games.

PHILADELPHIA (AP)— Philadelphia southpaw Cole Hamels, who won a combined 31 games for the Phils the last two years, continued his horror show season yesterday. Hamels fell to 2-11 after losing an early 3-0 lead as the Phillies fell to the New York Mets 4-3.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks seem to believe they were on to something after they went at Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara (ZAY'-noh CHAH'-rah) in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals and came away with a 6-5 overtime victory. That knotted the series at two games apiece as it shifts back to Chicago's United Center for Game 5 tonight.

UNDATED (AP)— Two NHL teams filled coaching vacancies with two veteran hires behind the bench. The New York Rangers named former Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault (vihn-YOH'), who gets a five-year deal, and Dallas hired former Buffalo head man Lindy Ruff as the Stars new coach.
