ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Alex Cobb hasn't ruled out pitching again in the next month after being struck in the head by a line drive in a game June 15. Cobb threw off a mound for the second time since being hurt before Monday night's game against Minnesota. He says his vertigo symptoms have greatly improved over the past two days.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have activated slugger Ryan Braun from the disabled list and placed third baseman Aramis Ramirez on the DL with a nagging left knee injury. Braun, the 2011 NL MVP who had been batting .304 this season, has been out for a month with a bruised right thumb.

PHOENIX (AP) — The Diamondbacks are hosting the Dodgers in a National League West contest this evening. The D-Backs start the game with a 4 ½ game lead over the Dodgers. On the mound for LA will be six-game winner Zack Greinke (GREHN'-kee) while Arizona counters with 1-2 Randall Delgado.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan joined thousands of thrill-seekers on Sunday and Monday in the annual running of the bulls at the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain. The team confirmed Monday that Ryan was uninjured while participating both days in the run, which is the highlight of a nine-day street festival and is televised nationally.

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with restricted free-agent defenseman Ryan McDonagh on a six-year, $28.2 million contract. McDonagh ranked second on the team with 78 blocked shots, third in average ice time at over 24 minutes per game, and fourth with a plus-13 rating.
