FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — A former backup point guard for Colorado State has pleaded guilty to possessing less than 12 ounces of marijuana.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/13nogdg ) Stephon Terrell Wynn was sentenced to a year of probation after pleading guilty Monday. He must do 50 hours of community service.
Colorado State's basketball team dismissed Wynn after a police investigation began over marijuana that was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop in February.
Court documents say text messages show Wynn had referred people to Jheryl Thomas for marijuana. Thomas received a three-year deferred sentence with 150 hours of community service after pleading guilty to second-degree trespass and marijuana possession.
Wynn's roommate Abraham Teshale faces drug distribution charges.
Wynn's lawyer says Wynn now attends Metropolitan State University of Denver.
