FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Fargo treatment center has canceled an appearance by former NFL quarterback Erik Ainge, who was arrested in July for drunken driving in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Forum reports (http://bit.ly/14BBIQn ) ShareHouse Jeans and Jerseys cancelled Wednesday's event at which he was going to discuss his drug and alcohol abuse.
Executive Director Deb Soliah says ShareHouse decided not to have Ainge come because it wasn't sure where he'd be in the court system or in his "journey in beating drug and alcohol abuse."
The 27-year-old started 37 games between 2004 and 2007 at Tennessee and was a fifth-round draft selection by the New York Jets in 2008. He retired after three seasons because of injuries to his throwing shoulder.
