TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama, the top team in the AP football poll, could be facing a real challenge this evening. The Crimson Tide are home for a game against archrival, and 10th-ranked, LSU. The Tide has a mark of 8-0 and 5-0 in the SEC, while LSU's Tigers are 7-2 and 3-2.

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — In Top-25 football last night No. 20 Louisville upped its record to 8-1 with a 31-10 win over Connecticut. Teddy Bridgewater threw for 288 yards and a touchdown to lead the Cardinals to the win. He has thrown 24 touchdown passes this season and has at least one scoring pass in 21 straight games.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers are off to a franchise-best 6-0 start to the season. Behind Paul George's 23 points last night the Pacers beat the Raptors 91-84. Roy Hibbert contributed 20 points in the win. For the Raptors had 30.

UNDATED (AP) — Six games make up the Top-25 men's basketball schedule today with Louisville the highest-ranked team in action. The third-ranked Cardinals are home to the College of Charleston. The next highest-ranked school in action today is No. 11 Ohio State and the Buckeyes are hosting Morgan State.

SHIMA, Japan (AP) — Three players from Japan top the LPGA's Mizuno Classic after two rounds of play. The lead is 8-under and American Brittany Lincicome (LIHN'-sih-kohm) is tied for second at 7-under. Stacy Lewis is 3-back after a second-round 68.
