COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Javeres Brent scored 17 points and Jackson State withstood an Air Force comeback attempt, holding on for an 84-82 victory Thursday night. The Tigers tied their largest lead over the Falcons at 47-32 early in the second half. But Air Force closed the gap and tied the game at 82-82 on Max Yon's 3-pointer with 16 seconds left in the game.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Fred Thomas scored 17 points in his first game of the season and Colin Borchert added15 to help Mississippi State beat Kennesaw State 78-55 Thursday night. Craig Sword had 13 points for the Bulldogs, Trivante Bloodman finished with 11, and Roquez Johnson had 10.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Freshman Nina Davis had 28 points and 11 rebounds in her first career start and Baylor beat Nicholls State 111-58 Thursday night for its 59th consecutive home victory. Odyssey Sims had four 3-pointers and 23 points without playing the final 10 minutes for the Lady Bears.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Maurice Aniefiok scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and North Texas came from behind to beat Nicholls State 92-78 Thursday night. North Texas has beaten Nicholls State in their last four meetings, but the Colonels lead the series 9-8.
