PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is nearing some franchise milestones as the season enters its final two weeks.
Brown is 18 receptions shy of breaking Hines Ward's club record of 112 catches in 2002. Brown is also 92 yards away from breaking Yancey Thigpen's mark for yards receiving in a single year.
Brown's breakthrough has come in the midst of a disappointing year for the Steelers (6-8), who need to win their final two games to avoid a losing season.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin compared Brown to former linebacker James Harrison, saying their work ethic is what has turned each from fringe prospect into stars. Brown says he's still motivated by not being selected until the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
