BORMIO, Italy (AP) — Aiming for back-to-back victories, Canada's Erik Guay was fastest in World Cup downhill training Saturday on the physically demanding Stelvio course.
Guay clocked 1 minute, 52.81 seconds for a 0.27 advantage over Hannes Reichelt of Austria, with overall leader Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway third, 0.31 back.
Bode Miller, still aiming for his first speed podium of the season at a resort where he has won three times, was fifth.
Guay won the Val Gardena downhill last weekend but has never finished better than fourth in Bormio.
Reichelt has two career victories in Bormio, having won a super-G in 2008 and shared the downhill win last year with Dominik Paris.
Paris is sitting this race out as he recovers from a crash in Val Gardena.
The downhill race is scheduled for Sunday.
